Our Junior Pelicans Summer Series is a small-group surf program designed for children who are confident, independent swimmers ready to develop their surf and ocean skills in a fun, social setting.
Small groups, experienced instructors, and a relaxed beach setting where kids build real surf skills alongside their peers. With a maximum of 4 kids per instructor, every child gets personal attention, more wave time and genuine progression every session.
This is a small, family-style programme — not a drop-off camp. Parents, siblings and friends are warmly welcomed on the beach. Some surf alongside the kids, some set up and relax, some cheer from the shore. However you choose to spend the morning, you're part of the Pelican family!
Sessions include surf coaching, boogie boarding and open ocean time. More experienced surfers are encouraged to practice independently — building confidence and decision-making alongside their group. Our team is led by JP ‘Peli’ with over 20 years of teaching experience, supported by experienced instructors who know and love the ocean.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION TERMS
Booking
Payment is made in full at time of booking
Bookings close 48 hours before each session — late and drop-in bookings cannot be accommodated
Sessions are confirmed subject to a minimum of 3 participants; if this isn't met you'll be offered an alternative date or a full refund
A parent or guardian must be present on the beach for the duration of every session
Rescheduling & Cancellations
Individual sessions can be rescheduled with a minimum of 48 hours notice
Single session bookings cancelled within 48 hours of start time are non-refundable; cancellations before this window receive a full refund or credit
Sessions within a package are non-refundable but may be rescheduled with 48 hours notice
Packages
Package rates apply to advertised Junior Pelicans Summer Series dates only
Sessions outside these dates are available as private bookings at standard rates
Weather & Ocean Conditions
Pelican Ocean Therapy reserves the right to cancel or reschedule sessions due to unsafe conditions — all affected participants will be offered a replacement date or full refund
Is This Program Right for Your Child?
This is a group surf program for typically developing children who can swim independently and are comfortable in open water. It is not an adaptive, therapeutic, or 1:1 instruction program.
Children who benefit from individualized support, sensory accommodations, or adaptive coaching are best served through our 1:1 adaptive surf program, available year-round.
This series is open to private families only and is not available through Regional Center, insurance, or organizational referral.
